Who We Are

Billable Rate (www.billable-rate.com) is a free tool that helps freelancers calculate their minimum hourly rate. The site is operated by an individual publisher and has no account registration, no user login, and does not collect any personal information directly.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, this site uses third-party services that automatically collect certain data when you visit:

  • IP address — used to estimate geographic location for analytics purposes
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring URL — the page you came from before visiting this site
  • Device type (desktop, tablet, mobile)

This data is collected by Google Analytics and Google AdSense on our behalf. We do not collect or store this data ourselves.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

Data We Do Not Collect

Billable Rate does not:

  • Require account registration or login
  • Collect your name, email address, or any contact information
  • Store the numbers you enter into the calculator — all calculations happen in your browser and are never sent to any server
  • Sell or share personal data with third parties beyond the services listed above

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, the legal bases for data processing are:

  • Consent — advertising and personalization cookies are only activated after you accept via the cookie consent banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Decline" or clearing your browser cookies.
  • Legitimate interests — basic, aggregated analytics that help us understand how the tool is used, without identifying individual users.

Data processed through Google's services may be transferred to and stored in the United States. Google maintains Standard Contractual Clauses and additional safeguards for international data transfers. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

Your Rights

EU / EEA / UK residents (GDPR)

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Because this site does not collect personal data directly, most requests must be directed to Google. Use Google's data controls to manage data held by Google Analytics or AdSense. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example, the ICO in the UK or your national DPA in the EU).

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing — Billable Rate does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No action is needed to exercise this right.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights
